In 2008, Willingdon Church undertook a major sound system upgrade to better support worship, spoken word, and live music throughout the sanctuary. LTS was selected to design and install a high-performance Adamson audio system, engineered with a singular focus on clarity, coverage, and long-term reliability.
Designed to serve the main floor, balcony seating, and auxiliary zones, the system was built not only to meet immediate needs, but to endure. Nearly two decades later, the original Adamson system remains fully operational and in active use, continuing to deliver consistent, high-quality performance throughout the space. This level of longevity—achieved without wholesale replacement—is a testament to both the system design and the standards to which it was installed.
Installation Process
Every phase of the installation was executed to exacting standards, ensuring long-term performance, serviceability, and structural integrity throughout the sanctuary.
- System Engineering & Design — Coverage modeling, speaker placement, and infrastructure planning to ensure even sound distribution throughout the sanctuary, balconies, and auxiliary areas
- Rigging & Loudspeaker Installation — Installation of certified flying hardware, rigging frames, and brackets for all main arrays, center cluster, subwoofers, and fill speakers
- Power Distribution Infrastructure — Deployment of dedicated AC power distribution, sub-panels, and 30-amp cabling to support amplifiers and processing equipment safely and reliably
- Signal & Speaker Cabling — Installation of SOCAPEX multi-pin cabling, NL8 and NL4 speaker runs, XLR signal paths, and structured cabling between racks, arrays, and zones
- Rack Build & Equipment Integration — Assembly and wiring of amplifier racks, processors, ventilation, and internal patching for long-term serviceability and clean system layout
- System Programming & DSP Configuration — Configuration of XTA and Nexia processors for zoning, routing, protection, and system control
- System Tuning & Commissioning — Final alignment, tuning, and verification to ensure clarity, intelligibility, and consistent performance across all seating areas
